Marcos Carrasco studied guitar with Gonzalo Micó from 1996 to 2001, took advanced courses of Music at The ARS-NOVA school of Music, and attended The Jazz Workshops of the JOSE REYNA CONSERVATORY. And IUDEM Jazz studies program.

He also took classes with  Gerry Weil, Julio Mendoza, Julio Sanchez and Alvaro Falcón, and attended Master Lectures from Paulo Bellinaty, Tuck Andrews & Billy Sheehan.

Marcos has played with musicians such as: Gonzalo Micó, Michael Berti, Marcus Vinicius Da Fonseca, Junior Romero, Carlos Sanoja, Gerardo Chacón, Carlos Rojas, Cristóbal Pitalúa, Alberto Borregales, Miguel Hernandez and Heriberto Rojas among others.
He has participated twice in the EL HATILLO JAZZ FESTIVAL, CARACAS LATIN JAZZ FESTIVAL, ORINOCO JAZZ FESTIVAL.

Marcos has perform several Concerts including LA SALA SIDOR, THE TEATRO MUNICIPAL DE CARACAS, SALA CELARG, UNIVERSIDAD CENTRAL DE VENEZUELA AUDIROTIUM, EL MUSEO DEL TECLADO, PDVSA LA ESTANCIA AND JACK BROWNSTEIN PRODUCTIONS.

Radio and national TV presentations including the twice in famous program "JAZZ" on national TV.

JAZZ STANDARDS (2001) was his first commercial album, although he previously recorded a promotional record called JAZZ TRIO with Giovanni Ramirez and Willy Díaz.

He also was recorded for the music catalogue of VENEZUELA DEMO NUMBER 27 (2007)

He has directed two jazz projects: Marcos Carrasco Jazz trio and El quinto juju a jazz fusion band.
